This used to be a great pub , bar lady was very nice but atmosphere wasn't as I remember a decore still as it was ten years ago , but was clean and tidy it would be nice to see pub being popular once more
Lovely little pub friendly staff .
This pub is a very Quiet alehouse and also clicky to be precise. Its more of an old mans pub and looks more like it should be on an ITV emmerdale set than on a main road in connahs quay. It looks nice enough from the outside and upon entering one will notice it has a very low ceiling, so those who are over 6 foot tall will have to duck while sipping there pint!!! However the fireplace that burns bright throughout the cold winter nights gives it an atmosphere of a homely environment. Ive only been to this pub a handful of times and hardly ever frequent it but it still deserves 3 stars out of 5 due to keeping afloat and alive in our hometown pub decline decade, further more it also appears to have its own dedicated locals who stick together and show support to there local inn. So i respect that about them at least and think this pub has earned the right to be recognised as a successful alehouse having already withstood the test of time. Well done to the Gwain and long may it continue to trade.
Beer good price good there is a no swearing policy and a beer garden for smokers no music no TV best time to go when Liverpool is playing for a quite pint but leave when the locals come back . they don't take much notice of swearing policy
Very old man's pub. Normally like that sort of thing but this was extremely outdated an definately not for the under 70's. Beer didn't taste right and ashtrays hadn't been emptied for days. Needs updating looks lovely from the outside. Inside is a different story. Not for family's wouldn't take my child there. Locals seemed friendly and all knew each other which I saw as the only plus
